What personal data does Valbo Trä handle?
The personal data we handle will consist of the data you have provided to us, or which we have collected from you or a third party.
Personal data you have provided to us: When you make a purchase from us, you will provide us with certain information about yourself, as you will too when you create a customer account with us. You may also provide information to us for other reasons, e.g. when you have been in contact with us via any of our many retailers or the like. For example, the information you provide might be your name, your contact information, your personal ID number, or derive from questions about products or services about which you wish to know more, or information about one of our products.
We may also handle information concerning you that we have purchased or gained access to from public registers or databases for marketing purposes, or to improve your customer experience.
For what purposes will we handle your personal data?
All gathering and processing of personal data occurs with a view to managing and fulfilling our undertakings in relation to you, improving our offering and services and communicating them to you, protecting our rights, and meeting our legal and contractual obligations.
We will handle the following personal data for the following purposes so as to be able to perform our agreement with you, or to take action at your request before an agreement is entered into: We will handle your name and your contact information, your personal ID number, information about the products or services you have purchased or sought information about, as well as any payment information (e.g. card number or billing address) in order to manage our customer relationship, including your payment. We will also handle such information in order to fulfil the obligations which follow from the agreements you have entered into with us, and to provide you with the information about the products and services you have requested from us. If you have a customer account with us, we will also handle information about your past purchases, and information about your user profile.
We will process information as to your name, your purchase and your contact information so that we can process any claims made pursuant to your right to return products, as well as any complaints, demands or warranties.
We will process information as to your name, personal ID number and financial status so that we can confirm your identity when entering into agreements with you.
We will also handle your personal information to be able to conduct testing of the IT systems used to manage your orders of our products or services, so as to ensure that they maintain high quality and a high level of security.

We may process, with a view to preventing crime, video content from surveillance cameras that contains personal data about you when you visit any of our facilities. Only areas which are particularly vulnerable to crime are subject to such surveillance.
We will handle personal data concerning you for the following purposes only if you have given your consent:
If you have created a customer account with us, you have consented to our handling of the data you have provided to us and information about your past purchases and bidding history so that we can manage your account and engage in personal communication with you.
If you have consented to receive direct marketing materials, such as newsletters, text reminders, sales campaign information, etc., we will handle your contact information for this purpose over an extended period.
To fulfil legal obligations:
We will also process your data to the extent necessary to comply with applicable laws, government decisions and any other legal obligations incumbent upon Valbo Trä AB. For example, we will store information about your agreement with us to the extent that it is necessary to do so to comply with applicable accounting laws.

Who can gain access to your personal data?
As a starting point, your data will be handled solely by Valbo Trä AB. Your personal data may be shared with actors who process personal data on our behalf, i.e. so-called personal data assistants. Valbo Trä AB uses outside providers for various purposes, such as data storage and other data processing, IT support, financial and payment services, the distribution of goods or information, printing, marketing, and analyses. In these cases the provider has no right to use any personal data, and Valbo Trä AB will enter into an agreement with the provider concerning their handling of any personal data.
How will we protect your personal data?
We and, where appropriate, our cooperative partners, have undertaken numerous security measures to protect the personal data being processed. We have redundant firewalls with smart intrusion protection to protect against outside threats, in order to protect against and prevent unauthorised access to our networks and systems. Physical access to data is protected via diversified perimeter security, so that only authorised personnel have access. Our employees are under strict instructions to handle all data in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and policies. Only those individuals who require access to systems in which personal data are stored are granted such access, and all data are protected by access rules. Both internal and external analyses are performed regularly to identify and remedy any vulnerabilities.
As a rule, we and our cooperative partners will process your personal data only within the EES. In those cases where the data are processed outside the EES, this will be done exclusively in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
How long will we store your personal data?
Valbo Trä AB will store your personal data for differing lengths of time, depending upon the purpose underlying the specific processing of the personal data in question. We will not store your data for any longer than we are entitled to under data protection laws, other relevant laws, regulations or guidelines from various government agencies or recommendations from industry organisations. We have listed some examples of how long we will store your personal data below.
- When you have purchased our products or services we will, as a starting point, store your personal data for as long as the customer relationship lasts, and sometimes longer in order to fulfil legal or contractual obligations.
- Pursuant to applicable law, we have the right to store your contact information for direct marketing purposes for a period of time after your purchase, or after our agreement has lapsed. This period of time will vary depending upon what the agreement concerns. Valbo Trä AB may consequently store your contact information in order to send you direct marketing materials during the time in which we are entitled to do so under applicable data protection laws, marketing laws, and common practice.
- If you have specifically given your consent to receive direct marketing materials, newsletters or reminders, we will store your personal data until you deregister yourself or ask us to stop contacting you.
- If you have created a user account with us, we will handle all your personal data until such time as you deregister your account with us.
- In those cases where the data have been collected from a third party for use in direct marketing, Valbo Trä AB will not store the data for any longer than we are entitled to and, in the absence of clear rules or guidelines, the data will be deleted within one year.
- For accounting purposes, we will save information regarding our agreement with you as required by applicable accounting laws for seven years from the year in which the agreement was signed.
Your personal data may be stored for longer than stated above to the extent that we are obligated to do so by law, ordinance or government decision.
How can you influence our handling of your personal data?
You have the right, at any time, to withdraw all or part of your consent to our handling of your personal data. However, such a withdrawal of your consent will have no effect on our handling of your personal data during the time before the withdrawal took place. You also have the right, at any time, to object to the use of your personal data for direct marketing or customer profiling.
